Abstract
:
Testing
in SOA differs from traditional testing, primarily because
of its foundation in contract based definitions, which are
often implemented as standards. In SOA, standards based definitions
are not only applicable for interfaces but also for a gamut
of other functions such as security, policies, roles based
access, orchestration etc. Adoption of standards also brings
forth some interesting additions in SOA based testing such
as automated definition/generation of message structure, test
case generation in accordance to message structure, standards
based validation, orchestration testing among many. Also there
might be a need to test services that follows a contract albeit
not based on universally adopted standards. In order to support
the stated testing capabilities a SOA testing platform needs
to go beyond traditional testing platforms in terms of support
for multiple types of standards, endpoints, translations etc.
The presentation will aim at introducing and addressing issues
unique to testing of contract based interfaces in SOA.
