Nikhil Gahlot is a SOA evangelist with Microsoft India
and his charter is to drive and help enterprise customers
to implement solutions on Microsoft platform. His responsibilities
includes providing technology consulting and approach
for various IT initiative, evangelize SOA to enterprise
customers & partners in corporate and government
sector. In his present role he focuses on EAI, B2B/G2G,
B2C/G2C landscape with technical skills around Microsoft
.Net Framework, Microsoft BizTalk Server, Microsoft
Office SharePoint Server, Microsoft Commerce Server
and Microsoft SQL Server. Prior to this Nikhil has worked
in different capacities in multiple mission critical
projects in the areas of Pre-sales, Consulting, and
Architect.
Nikhil
has to his credit some of the biggest and complex technical
projects executed by Microsoft in India. Apart from
work, Nikhil is passionate about cricket, driving, and
music.

Abstract
:
The
ability to readily change and optimize business processes
is the key to organizational competitiveness and growth. Organizational
agility can be compromised when supporting IT assets can not
flexibly respond to changing business needs. Unlocking IT
resources from their application silos and making their functionality
broadly available across the organization promotes business
process optimization and organizational agility. Service Oriented
Architecture (SOA) is a design approach that promotes better
alignment of IT with business needs, enabling employees, customers,
and partners to more quickly respond and adapt to changing
business pressures.
The session explores the business rationale for SOA, and more
importantly the Microsoft “real world” approach
to SOA.
